Family law covers legal services such as divorce (marriage dissolution), child custody, child support and post-decree modifications (changes) of child support and custody.  Steve represents clients throughout the Twin Cities Metropolitan area in Minnesota and St. Croix County in Wisconsin.

A retainer agreement along with a retainer amount is required to start a case.  Family law matters are billed on an hourly basis.  Clients are responsible for costs such as service and filing fees, unless they are eligible to file with a reduced filing fee or with no filing fee.  Filing with no fee is known as “In Forma Pauperis.”  The Courts have economic guidelines to determine eligibility for filing In Forma Pauperis.  Because each family law matter is unique, the total cost will vary according to each client’s particular situation.

Steve also represents clients who are seeking only limited representation, also known as “unbundled representation” for services such as document review.
