Steven M. Press has been in private practice in the Twin Cities for sixteen years.  He has substantial experience with collections and other creditor-debtor matters.  He also has extensive experience with criminal cases including DWI and DUI.  His other criminal experience includes drug cases at both the trial and appellate level in both federal and state courts.

Steve’s other practice areas include estate planning and probate.  He prepares wills, trusts, health care directive and powers of attorneys for individuals, married couples and domestic partners.  He frequently drafts wills for clients who have children and are concerned about preserving assets through the use of education trusts.  He also prepares trusts for clients who are concerned about protecting assets from estate taxes.

Steve represents clients who, due to illness or other infirmity, need a guardianship or conservatorship which is a protective arrangement.  He also represents clients who are concerned about family members who are no longer able to manage their affairs.

Steve also represents clients in divorce (marriage dissolution) and other family law matters such as child support and child custody.

Steve is an active member of the Guardianship and Conservatorship Panels maintained by the Ramsey & Hennepin County Probate Courts.  He is also an active member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel maintained by the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Steve is licensed to practice in all counties in Minnesota & Wisconsin although he concentrates his practice in Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, Dakota, Washington, Wright, Sherburne, Scott & Carver Counties in Minnesota and St. Croix County in Wisconsin.

Steve is also licensed to practice in the United States District Courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin (Western District) and the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals which hears the federal appeals from Minnesota.
